Tommy @ Rome Art Week
Tommy
Tommaso Nicoletti known as Tommy is a neuro-divergent artist. Tommy was born in Rome in 1998 and has not spoken since then. Since 2019 he has begun to communicate his universe of "rebel brain" with colors and brushes.
Data and contact details

Tommy has produced more than 200 paintings and hundreds of drawings in various techniques. In recent times he has discovered digital graphics, creating works and creativity for products of various brands. Tommy works and produces in his atelier inside the HubLab Cervelli Ribelli in the Prati district of Rome, an art school for autistic girls and boys was formed around him, Tommy actively participates in the social projects of the Cervelli Ribelli Foundation.

Those who follow him in his work would like that "Tommy Lab" could one day represent a model for all those like him, "beings of few words and with very colorful thoughts who, like dancing puppets, jump on chairs and tables".

Art historian Tiziano Panconi wrote about him:

"This young artist exhibits a singular unity of language (…) Paintings as profound visual recordings, not of what he visualizes optically but of what he digs into his own “I” – of an environmental emotional state – capable, through a seismograph lowered into the abyss of his celestial soul of an eternal child, to feel and waver in the face of any imperceptible emotional shock and therefore forced to take refuge in the reassuring perimeters of his marked monolithic forms

In April 2025, Mondadori Electa Kids published the book "In the Country Where Pigs Fly, Wolves Float." It's a fable entirely illustrated by Tommy, with text by his father Gianluca.

The most recent phase of his artistic output corresponds to his gradual discovery of the female nude. It begins in summer 2025, when he produces the triptych "Tommy's Venuses," presented that October at Rome Art Week.

After the Venus triptych, the artist began producing the cycle of works "Tommy's Playful Muses," engaging in a specific effort to reinterpret the female myths of the classical world, focusing especially on metamorphoses — Leda and the Swan, Apollo and Daphne, Pasiphae and the Bull, the myth of Hermaphroditus — and other subjects currently in progress, which will be previewed during the Open Studio from October 19 to 25, 2026.
