We will offer an open demonstration of one of our typical workshops. We start with 'art and movement' techniques by Azzurra Usai.
Azzurra Usai is a performer, dancer, and art therapist. For three years, she has brought her expertise to the art school 'Cervelli Ribelli,' where she has applied her experience in using body techniques for artistic expression with aspiring neurodivergent artists.
One of the central elements of the artistic workshop she leads is the theme of contact, understood not only as a physical experience but also as a perceptual and emotional process.
For some neurodivergent people, contact can be perceived differently, generating a sensory and relational distance that affects the way they interact with the world. Works of art, with their ability to evoke emotions, images, and movement, become a bridge to overcome this distance.
Through drawing and movement, the workshop builds an expressive channel that allows participants to approach art and others in a fluid and personal way.
This year, together with Azzurra, we are working on the project 'The Right to Art for Rebel Brains,' supported by the Giovan Battista Baroni Foundation. The project aims to challenge stereotypes by entrusting art with the task of granting dignity of existence to people considered outside the norm, for whom we are convinced it is possible to counter indifference and stigma by enhancing their expressive potential.
Ours is a school-workshop of arts and artistic techniques for self-expression; we work in a welcoming and creative environment, we are committed to providing tools and materials for artistic production, and have created a staff made up of qualified professionals to manage workshop activities. Our goal is to create opportunities for inclusion, both social and occupational, for neurodivergent young adults. We believe that dignity of existence is possible through artistic expression and the valorization of differences."
