OTTO Gallery is a purely photographic exhibition space located within OTTO Rooms, a brand new charming Guest House in the heart of Rome, inaugurated in November 2018.
A pioneering concept of hospitality that allows the customers of the Guest House to enjoy the exhibitions in the large common areas, completely free of charge.
At the same time this space is conceived as a true "photographer's house", in which all fans of this new art can meet to share, compare and grow through all the events organized and proposed.
The idea stems from the great passion of Simona Ottolenghi, architect, photographer and qualified tour guide, and Roberto Gabriele, a professional photographer for more than 20 years and also a qualified tour leader, both tireless travelers, companions in life, and in work adventures.
In 2013 Simona and Roberto created Viaggio Fotografico making of their passions and professionalism a lifestyle and work: in these years they have traveled and taught photography in 5 continents, for more than 20 travels a year around the world.
In 2017 they are given the opportunity to create and manage OTTO Rooms, born in the premises of the notary's office of Simona's father.A great challenge that they have taken up with enthusiasm, a new chapter to be lived with the same determination that has always distinguished them.
The renovation project is by Simona, who also directed the works, while the concept of this new space is the result of a strong understanding and collaboration of both.
The aim is to use this new structure not only for receptive purposes, but also to use the large common areas to implement a large program of cultural and photographic activities.
The style of the structure is essential but elegant, every detail has been studied ad hoc, including the preparation of the exhibition space, equipped with highly professional lighting and tracks for displaying works.
OTTO Gallery proposes artists and works of high quality, both emerging and professional, which can have a strong impact even for guests staying in the rooms.
In the selection of the works to be exhibited, photography is the protagonist, in its various meanings: from more classical works, to more creative and multimedia interpretations.
In 10 months 4 personal photo exhibitions were inaugurated, 9 photography workshops were held with different themes and teachers, and 12 cultural and photographic meetings in the salOTTO, the dedicated living room.
