In the country where pigs fly wolves float

Open studio of artist Tommy Nicoletti

Tommy's work over the past year has focused heavily on digital graphics. A neurodivergent artist like him, he has found new expressive maturity and greater freedom from the physical constraints his condition could sometimes encounter when manipulating acrylic paints. His particular use of the tablet has become a tool for him to define an idea or concept, which he then translates in full onto canvas, or a way to begin imagining a connection between his "dancing puppets," which for the first time have constructed a true story. In a book of storybooks, Tommy's drawings have become the guide to the texts written by his father, only to emerge from the printed page again and take on new life in further works on canvas. In this continuous cycle, the characters grow, mutate, and alter their structure in a continuous creative palingenesis that follows the indecipherable path of his non-standard mind.
