In recent years Tommy has produced hundreds of works, mostly large paintings made using acrylic on canvas technique. In the studio where he works, a working model has been developed that is proving very rewarding. A team has been consolidated made up of operators, art therapy teachers, and psychologists who help provide an art workshop for young autistic adults. These are precisely the people who represent that portion of humanity that finds it hardest to find specific gathering places with staff competent in managing their time.
Our activity aims to challenge stereotypes by entrusting art with the task of giving dignity of existence to people considered outside the standard, for whom we are convinced it is possible to counter indifference and stigma by nurturing their expressive potential. Ours is a school-workshop of arts and artistic techniques for self-expression; we work in a welcoming and creative environment, and we are committed to providing tools and opportunities for inclusion, both social and professional, to neurodivergent young adults, to whom we would like to give dignity of existence through artistic expression and the appreciation of differences.
Tommy is working on the Playful Muses of Tommy.
Here are the YouTube videos with the summary of the making of each artwork.
