We will present a live demonstration of cultural integration through art.
Our overall aim is to create a sustainable and replicable model of intercultural art therapy for people with neurodevelopmental disorders, promoting social inclusion and well-being. We are working to develop a model that could evolve into an Italian-Chinese intercultural workshop.
This workshop illustrates an idea we are currently developing. It builds on some of the work we have carried out over the past three years, during which we have organised art workshops for neurodivergent artists at the Cervelli Ribelli HubLab on Via Tommaso Gulli in Rome.cervelliribelli
Some of these workshops have been led by highly skilled Chinese artists and art therapists living in Italy, who have worked alongside us to develop specific expertise in supporting young autistic adults.
We have found working with them extremely stimulating. Knowing that, through their association, Mindwhisper Centre, they were already playing an important role as intermediaries within the Chinese community, we began exploring the possibility of a joint project.
