Art and literature; tribute to MELANIA MAZZUCCO

Each artist presents a work inspired by a scene, character or situation taken from Melania Mazzucco's literary works, citing the passage and the literary work of reference in the caption.

We are now in the fifth edition of the series ‘Art and Literature; Tribute to...’ that the Arca di Noesis gallery offers every six months, enjoying great public success and widespread participation among artists. For this fifth edition, we dedicate our tribute to a highly successful Italian writer: MELANIA MAZZUCCO.
Immersing oneself in her novels is like travelling to distant times, visiting places and environments that have now been lost, and getting to know characters who remain in one's heart. Her writing is so enjoyable and effective that it gives the reader the feeling of having personally experienced the events narrated. Historical documentation and narrative intertwine, sometimes merging, often recovering the memory of illustrious female characters forgotten by history.  Her literary output spans various genres, not only fiction, but also non-fiction, journalism and children's literature.

Visitors will find themselves immersed in images that recall the themes, characters, situations and atmospheres present in the novels of the great Italian writer MELANIA MAZZUCCO, elaborated by the sensitivity of the various exhibiting artists, who offer their interpretation of freely chosen passages.  The result is a wonderful fusion of figurative art and literature. Visitors will find it easy to navigate the exhibition, as the captions will include, along with information about the work on display, a quote and the title of the novel that inspired it.
