Waseem Emam is an Egyptian conceptual photographer born in Cairo. He is a member of the Egyptian Photographic Society (EPS) and the Union of Arab Photographers (UAP). Actively engaged in social empowerment initiatives, he is also a supporter of the “Taa Marbouta” Campaign, one of Egypt’s leading initiatives dedicated to women’s empowerment.
Emam has participated in numerous local and international exhibitions and has received several awards and honors. His work has attracted considerable attention from critics and curators for its distinctive ability to balance visual allure with intellectual depth.
Drawing inspiration from the local social reality and the cultural specificity of the Eastern context, Waseem Emam’s artistic vision intersects with women’s issues within a broader global framework. His works address complex social concepts, highlighting the challenges women face, including discrimination and accumulated societal pressures that restrict their freedom and hinder their development.
His artistic practice further explores themes of identity, human relationships, and consumer culture through a bold and symbolic conceptual visual language, inviting viewers to engage with contemporary social realities from new and thought-provoking perspectives.
