Painter Areta Didžionienė – a painter, artist, designer, artist-educator living and working in Tauragė. The artist was born in Tauragė and has been connected to this city to this day. Her creative path to professional art was not straight – before devoting herself to art, she studied theology and economics, but the constant need to create eventually became the most important direction in her life. She is a professional painter and designer who completed her basic studies at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, Kaunas branch. She began her creative journey in 2019. She collaborates with many cultural organizations in Lithuania and Italy. She is a member of the international Italian cultural confederation CONF.E.P.I and the international Italian-Lithuanian artists association “Du Krantai”. The author organizes personal exhibitions in Lithuania, and she is an active participant in international exhibitions and art projects in Rome, Italy. The artist’s creative field is wide – it combines painting, graphics, visual design and object art. In her works, one can find fantastic and figurative motifs, urban and architectural fragments, natural elements, symbols and metaphorical characters. In her work, the author strives for an organic synthesis of line and form, combining traditional means of artistic expression with more modern searches. Color and painterly strokes occupy a special place in A. Didžionienė's work. The author forms a unique color scheme, in which expressive, dynamic strokes can merge with gentle, plastic and philosophical expression. Her painting methods are characterized by the vibration of strokes, the interaction of sfumato principles and soft halftones close to the impressionist tradition. This method of painting allows the image of the real world to be transformed into a space based more on intuition, memory and emotion. In the author's work, color is a certain part of creative philosophy. The work of the painter Areta Didžionienė, who has an exceptional style, is marked by the themes of memory, history, cultural identity and the relationship between man and the environment. She is interested in the symbols of Baltic culture, the legacy of ancestors, and the connection between nature and man. In 2022, the graphic cycle presented at the exhibition "Arbareto" examined the signs of Baltic culture, the symbolism of the World Tree, and images of sacred groves. These motifs in the artist's work become not only historical material, but also metaphors that allow us to talk about man's place in the world. The work of the painter Areta Didžionienė in the context of Lithuanian art is distinguished by the following creative features: A unique color scheme and painting manner. The artist combines an impressionistic stroke with the sfumato principle, which is why her works feature soft halftones, a connection between reality and fantasy. Fragments of architecture, natural motifs, figures, faces, and fantastic characters are transferred to a dreamlike, sometimes mystical space. In this way, the everyday world acquires a symbolic and philosophical meaning and atmosphere, but at the same time the expressive energy of the stroke remains. A meditative and lyrical relationship with the viewer. Her paintings do not simply tell or illustrate a specific plot - they leave a space for mystery, nostalgia and reflection. The uniqueness of the painter Areta Didžionienė in the context of Lithuanian art can be attributed to her ability to transform the traditional language of painting into a personal, dreamy and philosophical world. In her work, it is more important not to accurately depict reality, but to convey emotion, memory and a person's relationship with the environment through color, texture, light and symbol. Therefore, her painting balances between figurativeness, abstraction, impressionistic atmosphere and metaphysical imagination.
