I am Rocky Cervini, an Argentine visual artist.
In my work, I seek to express the fragility of people in their emotional relationships and the difficulty of revealing and openly communicating their feelings, as well as the profound connection between physical and emotional pain.
I begin with a personal memory and sketch the characters in the scene. Then, I transfer the figures onto wooden pieces that I cover with canvas, paint, and reassemble into the original sketch’s form. Once materialized, the beings break free from the two-dimensional plane, creating gaps and shadows—like the silences of what remains unspoken.
Through a conceptual-material-immaterial journey, I conceive my characters from lived experience, translate them into painting, and bring them back to life there, seeking to leave an incorporeal mark in the observer’s memory.
