Nijole Jovariene (Nijo Bronze)
Nijole Jovariene, known as Nijo Bronze, is a jewellery artist based in Kaunas,
Lithuania. She graduated from Kaunas Applied Art School in 2015,
specializing in metal arts and crafts. Her work has been exhibited in galleries
in Kaunas and Berlin, as well as in exhibitions in Turkey and Greece. Notably,
in 2022, her jewellery piece C-section was selected for the Paradox exhibition
at Budapest Jewellery Week, held at Hybridart Space Gallery. In addition to
international showcases, Nijole presents her work annually in exhibitions held
in Lithuania’s historic manor houses, blending contemporary craftsmanship
with the elegance of the past.
Deeply passionate about eco-friendly and sustainable fashion, Nijole creates
statement jewellery inspired by the Steampunk genre and Byzantine
ornaments. She skillfully combines recycled metal materials with antique
bronze objects, describing her creative process as a form of “time-traveling”,
where delicate experimentation and improvisation breathe new life into
ancient and archaic metal pieces. Nijole believes her jewellery appeals to
individuals who are not only extravagant but also environmentally conscious,
appreciating the timelessness of bronze and the beauty of antiquity.
