Opening Photographic Exposition Katalogos of Dario Coletti

The spaces of OTTO Gallery present Katàlogos, an exhibition by Dario Coletti, who, besides being a friend, is an exceptional photographer.

Katàlogos
is a daily practice of visual storytelling that unfolds through images and words. It is a journey through time and in every direction of space.

It is a work that takes everything that exists as its subject and seeks to preserve our constantly evolving memory.
A catalogue of what we know, what we have known and what we will come to know, starting from a cognitive and intuitive approach and the ability to evoke. The sequence is organised as a collection of visual texts divided into hashtags.
#Everyday – memory of the recent past. The state of the self as I go about living, the memory of forms and contents and of how they are represented in the moment.
#Totem – memory of the self. Bodies and faces relate to representations, ancestral connections, evocations of distant times and unknown spaces. Why do we dream of animals as if they were part of our everyday lives?
#Simulacra – memory of humankind writing history to celebrate its own progress; memory of the process of civilisation and history.
#Planet – memory of the Earth. The cycle of transformations, alchemical and mysterious evolutions, an inner world revealed through valleys, mountains and expanses of water, landscape as evidence of hidden, visceral, powerful forces.
