Jacopo Maria Della Valle, born in Rome in 1979, discovered his passion for photography at the age of six when he received a Fujica ST701, which had belonged to his father, as a gift. From that moment on, the camera became his preferred tool to explore the world, understand its dynamics, and make them his own. After graduating with honors in Set Design from the Academy of Fine Arts, Jacopo worked as a Digital Artist at Cinecittà, but it was in photography that he found his most authentic expressive language. From the very beginning of his creative journey, curiosity and the desire to preserve disappearing traditions pushed him to travel. However, over time, he realized that his project went beyond mere documentation. Through his explorations across five continents, Jacopo investigates the concept of belonging and how individual identity is deeply connected to one’s place of birth and upbringing, even when we are unaware of it.In his photographs, Jacopo doesn’t just capture landscapes and faces but the profound connection between people and their environments. Each image tells a story of belonging, a reflection on what it means to be part of a community or culture, revealing the beauty of human connections that transcend geographical distances. The exhibition World Connections represents a synthesis of over ten years of work, celebrating the anthropological diversity and the richness of human connections that unite us. The works on display invite the viewer to reflect on the importance of cultural identity and the bond with one's place of origin.Jacopo’s work has received numerous international awards, including the Travel Tales Award 2023 and Travel Photographers of the Year 2023. He participated in the Atlas of Humanity project and was selected for the international exhibition in Paris in 2019."
