Following the great success of La crociata dei bambini. Artisti per il Disarmo (The Children's Crusade. Artists for Disarmament) (2023, Villa Lazzaroni, Rome) and 80 volte Bella ciao! (2025, La Vaccheria, Rome), the national ANPI, again based on an idea and curated by Roberto Gramiccia, this time in collaboration with the associations TRAleVOLTE and Il Coraggio della Pace disarma, is promoting and organizing a contemporary art exhibition-event entitled Free Palestine. Artists for Gaza.
The event will be held in the spaces of the TeatroBasilica and the TRAleVOLTE exhibition area (Piazza di Porta San Giovanni 10, Rome) on October 20. The exhibition will bring together the works of 22 artists and will be preceded by a series of speeches in the Teatro Basilica by figures from the worlds of culture and politics. So far, the following have confirmed their participation: Marcella Brancaforte (NoBavaglio Network), Alberto Dambruoso (art historian), Fabrizio De Sanctis (ANPI National Secretariat), Milena Fiore (Gaza International Festival for Women's Cinema), Claudio Grassi (President of Il Coraggio della Pace disarma), Alex Hobel (historian), Diego Piccoli (CGIL Rome), Yousef Salman (President of the Palestinian Community of Rome and Lazio), Elisabetta Valento (Assopacepalestina).
There is no need to detail the reasons for an event that aims to demonstrate, once again and in agreement with the powerful voice rising from around the world, how the world of culture, and in particular that of the arts and visual artists, denounces and condemns the horrific and scandalous genocide that is ravaging Gaza and the Cisgiordania
