Dwa bint Khalid Al Khalifa is a Bahraini visual artist whose practice explores memory, identity, motherhood, heritage, and the emotional architecture of place. Working across painting, printmaking, digital illustration, and installation, her work often transforms personal and cultural experiences into poetic visual narratives.
Her practice is rooted in Bahrain’s landscape, domestic spaces, and collective memory, while also engaging with contemporary questions of belonging, protection, femininity, and transformation. Through symbolic forms, layered textures, and recurring motifs such as houses, windows, the sea, and the body, she creates works that move between intimacy and universality.
Dwa holds, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MA in Fine Arts Digital from Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London. She is currently pursuing her PhD, continuing her research into art, memory, and cultural identity.
Alongside her artistic practice, she is the Chairwoman of Lamea Association and a member of Bahrain’s National Arts Council. Her work has been exhibited in Bahrain and internationally, and she continues to develop projects that connect personal storytelling with wider cultural and social narratives.
