About Nodelab
Nodelab is a distributed laboratory dedicated to interdisciplinary research and experimentation, operating across Rome, Guidonia Montecelio and Magliano Sabina.
Emerging from the intersection of contemporary art, science, design and new technologies, Nodelab promotes a decentralized model of cultural production in which different locations, skills and artistic perspectives contribute to building a shared creative ecosystem.
The organization functions as an open platform for artistic research and production, encouraging dialogue between traditional and digital languages, with particular attention to the relationship between humans, technology, and perceptual and cognitive processes.
Artistic Research and Production
Nodelab develops interdisciplinary projects ranging from visual arts to interactive installations, generative art, 3D printing, creative coding and immersive environments.
Technology is regarded not merely as a production tool but as an expressive language through which to explore the relationships between images, matter, information and perception.
The collective dimension encourages dialogue between different artistic practices, fostering creative autonomy and active audience participation.
Spaces and Technological Resources
Nodelab operates through three territorial hubs that integrate research, production, education and exhibition activities.
Its technological resources include 3D printing systems, digital fabrication equipment, programmable electronics, sensors, motion-tracking devices and immersive technologies.
These resources make it possible to transform conceptual research into artworks, installations and interactive experiences.
Projects and Areas of Experimentation
Key research projects include:
Interactive Talking Tactile Board: An interactive device combining tactile perception, sound and storytelling to explore new ways of experiencing cultural content.
3D Virtual Museum: Research into the digitization and immersive exploration of artistic and cultural heritage.
Interactive Experience: Interactive environments in which body movements, detected through sensors, generate visual and digital experiences.
These projects integrate artistic research, technological experimentation and educational practices.
Cultural and Educational Activities
Nodelab promotes exhibitions, laboratories, workshops and masterclasses dedicated to the intersection of visual culture and technological innovation.
Through Nodelab Academy, it develops interdisciplinary educational programs aimed at artists, designers, educators, students and professionals.
Education is conceived as an integral part of artistic research, encouraging knowledge sharing and collective experimentation.
Mission and Vision
Nodelab promotes a humanistic vision of innovation, in which technology expands the expressive possibilities of art without replacing individual artistic sensitivity.
The distributed laboratory model forms the foundation of its identity: a network of places, people and expertise that values local characteristics while fostering interdisciplinary dialogue.
Its goal is to build an open research community, connecting artists, researchers and institutions to develop new forms of cultural production and aesthetic experience.
