The exhibition project was born thanks to the collaboration between the TRAleVOLTE Association and Art Agency, a mediation agency between the art system and those who operate in this professional sector. “No vases with flowers” by Lorenzo Cappella and Claudio Valerio is an invitation to reflect on the concept of painting as a traditional modus operandi and on how it continues to be the preferred means of investigation by contemporary artists.
Both artists, each with their own expressive peculiarities and their own artistic research, place the observer in front of a restless atmosphere both due to the indefinite forms and the eerie tones used. If the indefinite brushstrokes of Lorenzo Cappella refer the mind to animal configurations, the uncertain profiles of Claudio Valerio recall lunar landscapes where every form of life has disappeared. The ultimate goal of the two artists, far from any didactic pictorialism, is to offer future visions derived from today's instability.
