Sublime - Christian Escobar

“Sublime” will present three large-scale works (2 m x 1.82 m), executed with the traditional chiaroscuro technique: Saint Michael the Archangel, Saint Gabriel the Archangel, and Our Lady of Sorrows.

The Exhibition. It presents three large canvases (200 × 182 cm) in the traditional chiaroscuro technique: Saint Michael the Archangel, Saint Gabriel the Archangel (unpublished), and Our Lady of Sorrows (unpublished). The works provide a path of meditation on spiritual struggle and Marian consolation. Highly contemplative, they are intended to foster the encounter between art and faith, under the curatorship of Vatican journalist Marinellys Tremamunno.

Sublime has been recognized as an official event of the Jubilee 2025 and is authorized by the Dicastery for Evangelization with inclusion in the General Calendar. Furthermore, it has the institutional support of Snam, the patronage of the Lazio Region, and has been made possible thanks to the generous contribution of Capillas Señoriales.

The Artist. Christian Escobar “Chrispapita” (Guatemala City, 1982) is a prominent figure on the international scene, recognized for the expressive power of his hyperrealism inspired by the Italian Baroque. His work is distinguished by profound spiritual sensitivity and a constant reference to the values of the Catholic tradition. After presenting last August, in the Cathedral of Alicante, the work Virgen del Remedio—which was donated and is now on permanent display—he now wishes to offer an artistic contribution to the Jubilee 2025.
