Marinellys Tremamunno is an Italian-Venezuelan professional journalist (ODG Lazio No. 0516) and videomaker. She holds a degree in Social Communication from the Central University of Venezuela (2002), with her professional qualification as a journalist also officially recognized in Spain. She also earned a Master’s degree in New Journalism from the International University of Valencia (Spain, 2011) and has completed several specialized courses in communication at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome.
At the age of 25, she founded the newspaper Tras La Noticia in San Antonio de los Altos, Venezuela, which she was forced to close after six years due to censorship in the country. Later, in Rome, she founded the association “Venezuela: la piccola Venezia” in 2017, with the aim of promoting international cooperation initiatives between Italy and Latin America.
For the past 12 years, she has been accredited as a correspondent to the Holy See Press Office and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, working with several international media outlets. She currently collaborates with Imagen TV (Mexico), Caracol TV (Colombia), Diario Las Américas and TVV Network (United States). In Italy, she writes for Alleanza Cattolica, Verbum Press and Messaggero di Sant’Antonio.
In the field of communications, she served as Head of Press for the U.S.-based Arts Connection Foundation (2018–2024), Press Officer at the Embassy of Guatemala in Italy (2020–2021), and spokesperson for the National Pavilion of Guatemala at the Venice Art Biennale (2022). From 2018 to 2023, she also coordinated the artistic direction of the Miami New Media Festival in Italy, and in 2024 she founded the Italia Media Art Festival (IMAF).
She currently provides communications consultancy services to various institutions, including the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to the Holy See, and also serves as the Italian representative of Guatemalan hyperrealist artist Christian Escobar.
