As part of the exhibition project ‘La Pace è stanca’ by Paola Romoli Venturi at Mesia Space the talk “Incontri” will take place, featuring the presentation of the book "Bum... Pam... Ratatatà... La Pace non può essere solo un sogno" by Livia Trigona – OMNES…oltre i confini ODV, with illustrations by Chiara Lorenzini, Quaderni del Volontariato 1 – 2025, published by CESVOL Umbria.

A book born from the encounters and experiences gathered over the years through the various activities carried out by the association OMNES…oltre i confini ODV. A book that tells the stories of and gives voice to the “children of war,” who “have the right to dream, to follow the trail of music, to find what they are looking for: Peace.”

The talk, moderated by Paola Romoli Venturi, will feature contributions from representatives of the OMNES…oltre i confini ODV association and the “Umanità?!” Project by MESIA Space, along with audience participation.

The event is part of the 2025 edition of "Oltre i confini. Incontri di Arte, Cultura e Diritti Umani", held in Castelbuono di Bevagna, and part of the initiatives surrounding the Perugia–Assisi Peace March, October 12, 2025.

The event is also included in the calendar of RAW – Rome Art Week 2025.

Below is the preface to the book:

Syria, Burundi, Senegal, Afghanistan…
All around the world, among children who have now grown up, are the “children of war.”
These short stories are dedicated to them and their pain, so that their words may leave a deep and indelible mark on the hearts of those who listen.
We must share their lives so that no child ever again has to say,
“I am a child of war.”
We must give them back the chance to dream, so that - despite everything - the children of war may still offer their hearts to the world: hearts marked by stitches,
but smiling with a love so intense it makes our souls tremble.
They are treasure chests of wonders, unfolding in powerful voices that sing to the world, in gentle gestures that catch the eye by surprise, in eyes filled with wonder before the delight of an ice cream, in denunciations of extraordinary strength, and in the ability to give life with loving grace

They have the right to dream, to follow the trail of music, to find what they are looking for: Peace.
Our thanks go to the children of war who crossed paths with us on the road of life and paused for a moment to help us understand.
To Abdulaziz, Geraldine, Lamine, Shadykhan, Fitsum, and to all the children—children of war.

Omnes… oltre i confini ODV is a small volunteer association based in Cantalupo, Bevagna (Perugia), that grounds its work in solidarity—understood as the ability to recognize oneself in the other and to feel the other within oneself. It is an empathic process of recognition, built on concrete actions, direct knowledge, attentive listening to words, to glances, to needs. The association operates locally with the aim of weaving together stories, analyses, skills, and expertise so they may extend beyond regional borders—currently reaching Liguria, Marche, Sicily, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia—and beyond national borders to Afghanistan, Cameroon, and, through collaboration with other organizations, to Benin, Greece, Bosnia, South Sudan, andPalestine. It is committed daily to spreading messages that explore a range of social issues, with the goal of encouraging reflection and open discussion.
