Mom, I Want to Be an Artist is based on a precise choice: to offer exhibition space free of charge to young artists whom I have met and come to know over the past year, and in whom I have recognized talent, research, and a genuine creative spark.

It is a choice I have been making for around twenty years, within my studio, where I have always tried to offer young artists free space and exhibition opportunities, making my experience and my workplace available to them.

At a time when artists are increasingly asked to pay in order to exhibit, I have chosen to take the opposite approach.

I believe that the entrepreneurial risk of a gallery or art space lies precisely in its ability to recognize the beauty and the spark within a true artist, and to invest in them. When this does not happen, and the artist simply becomes a client who pays to be exhibited, the very purpose of a gallery is lost.

This exhibition is therefore also a statement of principle.

I, Fabrizio Di Nardo, artist and lead organizer of the project, am opening my space during Rome Art Week to a selection of young talents whom I have had the opportunity to meet personally over the past year.

This is not a random selection, nor a group exhibition assembled simply for the sake of numbers. It is the result of a year of encounters, conversations, and observation, through which I have selected artists whose work I have found to contain something authentic.

Mom, I Want to Be an Artist is, above all, an act of trust.

I provide the space.
They bring the talent.
The public decides what it sees.
