Art as a Calling to the Soul
My artistic research stems from an urgency: to create a profound and authentic encounter between the viewer and the complexity of the human experience. This process begins within me, through constant observation and a silent, ongoing dialogue with the world around me. My works are the visual manifestation of this inner journey.
The Act of Resistance
In a world dominated by digital frenzy and conformity, I feel the need to bring individuality back to the forefront: the uniqueness of each word, gesture, and mark.
For me, handwriting is an act of resistance. The letters and numbers I incorporate into my work are not mere decorations; they are pigments, symbols, and fragments of memory. Every mark is unrepeatable, just like every individual.
I believe in the timeless power of words — in their ability to transcend time and the hand that once wrote them. By bringing these marks into the realm of painting, I allow them to become matter, presence, and emotion once again.
The Suspended Moment
Symbols play a central role in my artistic practice. I see our era, shaped by overlapping realities and confusion, as fertile ground for discovering “suspended moments” — fragments of eternity hidden within everyday life.
I often capture these moments with a quick smartphone photograph, a spontaneous gesture that freezes a fleeting balance.
I then strip the image of its ordinary dimension, redrawing and reconstructing it. Through layers of colour and contrasts, I restore depth, soul, and substance to these moments.
The Purpose of the Artwork
My works are intended to be visual metaphors — open spaces for reflection.
I do not seek to provide answers, but rather to raise questions.
I wish to offer viewers the opportunity to pause, to step away for a few moments, to take a breath, and to allow themselves to be guided simply by emotion.
For me, art is one of the few remaining ways through which the soul can awaken.
