Theme 2026: "Geographies of the Contemporary: A reflection on the present as a realm of continuous transformations and relationships."

THE EXHIBITION

On the occasion of the 22nd Contemporary Art Day, Studio Campo Boario presents Therapeutic Sabotage, an exhibition that presents the physical, sonic, and visual traces of a process of ideological reset and deconstruction to the public.

The exhibition gathers the results of a closed-door performative experiment held earlier in the afternoon: a staged journey—encompassing bodily circuit-breaks, the celebration of error, and sensory experiences—during which participants acted directly upon 5 large painted canvases. On these surfaces, conceived as the visual substance of 20th-century dualisms and inherited clichés, marks of conceptual breakthrough were etched, erased, and layered, reinterpreted in light of the impact of new digital technologies and hyper-connectivity.

Studio Campo Boario is thus transformed into an exhibition space where the public can experience the 5 transformed canvases, alongside audio/video recordings and material artifacts that emerged during the working phase. An opportunity to explore the remnants of a newly bare line of thought and to reflect on the present as an ever-shifting existential geography.
