Cristiana Fasano

Her artistic research began with Performance Art, then moved on to Fiber and Textile Art, where she experimented with new artistic shapes and possibilities.

She was born in 1984, in Avellino, she lives and works in Rome. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Rome, in Set Design and she works as set and costume designer for theatre and cinema. Her artistic research began in 2008 with performance art, and in 2011 she began experimenting with embroidery on fabric to create works, thus taking her first steps in fiber art and textile art.

In her work, embroidery combines with various materials, including terracotta objects and sculptures, creating two- and three-dimensional works. She loves to experiment, so she has used various media for her embroidery, such as X-Rays, shaped fabric into soft sculptures and created tulle and crochet masks, which she has worn in "photographic performances".

Her artworks have been exhibited both in Italy and abroad.
