Data and contact details

Laura Casali was born in Rome in 1972 and is a contemporary artist and painter who distinguishes her personal style in the use of charcoal, her first love, and in the continuous search for thicknesses and conquest of space, given by the application of acrylic with a spatula and often recycled objects with a symbolic meaning

In the continuous search for her path, she successfully attended the III Liceo Artistico Statale in Rome, began studying architecture, then psychology, some amateur painting courses and participated in small local collective art exhibitions dedicated to young artists, and then left everything and launched herself into a working life common to many.

For many years she left her desire for expression dormant and hidden in her unconscious, which regains the upper hand in a period of strong emotional tension.

She gets back into the game, with a great desire to emerge and communicate, but never forgetting the emotion she wants to convey, through participation in various selections and artistic exhibitions.

His expressive need arises from the inner urgency to communicate, to express what he cannot say in words, what he hides behind an apparent great self-control; extreme need to give life to emotions, which jump out and take over.

His works are representations of strong emotions, of rebellious, broken and divided souls.

With his personal way of making art he wants to counter the request for appearance and "moral and emotional flattening" ... a conceptualism that would like to go beyond the visible by highlighting those sufferings and emotions that are often lacerating, but that the community does not like to listen to and therefore remain hidden and silent, without the possibility of being recognized and experienced.

Works that are sometimes disturbing but true ... that do not leave you indifferent ... this is the intent!!! Communicate and search for true and hidden emotions, those uncomfortable truths that life puts before us.

He consciously chooses to leave many works untitled (even though they contain a strong and personal emotional and psychological meaning at the time of their creation) because their meaning wants to be reported without prejudice to the viewer, reaching that intimate moment of the personal experience of each observer, in the ephemeral and fleeting instant in which he observes; a starting point for reflection, even psychological, that the observer, if he wants, can also bring back to himself and vary over time.
