From a young age, the influence of classical and Renaissance Italian art has profoundly shaped my artistic style. I grew up in Turin, a multicultural city that, despite its intense social life, allowed me to dedicate my free time to drawing and painting. In 1997, I enrolled in the Renato Cottini School of Art and obtained a diploma in Graphic Design and Web Design from Les Meridien in Turin. In 2016, I decided to focus entirely on my painting and moved to Fuerteventura, where I faced significant challenges during the initial years. To support myself, I took on commissioned work such as logos, murals, and decorative projects, which allowed me to experiment with various techniques and media. I also had the opportunity to teach, an enriching experience that helped me grow through the exchange with my students. During the 2020 pandemic lockdown, my artistic approach changed radically. I began using large recycled and broken panels that, while maintaining the appearance of a canvas, added strength and character to my works. This approach has become the core of my artistic expression, always seeking new and different ways to depict my subjects. I always strive to break the monotony of form, avoiding repeated framed images and regular shapes. I seek new solutions to represent images and feelings with knowledge and technique, but using different materials, as a critique of the art market that constantly imposes specific media. My works are primarily created with acrylic paints on broken or recycled HD boards, which offer a very similar base to common canvas but remain rigid. There are also interventions with other media such as aerosol and stencil, which, depending on the project, allow me to achieve specific effects. For the hanging system and to prevent the HD board from warping over time, the paintings require a support that keeps them taut. To avoid the paintings being too far from the wall, creating shadows that detract from the image, I chose a rigid but lightweight material that can be cut according to the shape of the works: aluminum dibond.
