In a city with an economic and cultural pace like Rome, it is increasingly difficult to find spaces for creative development at an affordable cost. With this idea, CovoLab was born, a project for a multidisciplinary coworking of artists.A space for painters, photographers, illustrators, where they can create their own projects and have the opportunity to exhibit their works.
The CovoLab was founded in 2009 within the spaces of the former Viola chocolate factory in the San Lorenzo district of Rome. For years it was an interdisciplinary creative space, hosting a recording room and then a cineforum for 9 years. For 5 years it hosted the atelier of street artist Alice Pasquini.
Although each of the participants has their own particular aesthetic, they all find common ground in the idea of creating a community that is enriched by sharing different knowledge and experiences and artistic skills.
The artists have a fixed position within the rooms of the CovoLab, and 24-hour access to the space. There are common areas available to everyone with the possibility of painting outdoors.
