Andrea Pinchi and Giulia Manfredi: A Dialogue Between Light, Shadow and Matter
Friday, October 23, 2026, at 7:00 PM
Curated by Francesca Briganti
The project explores the relationship between light and darkness, memory and transformation, matter and perception, inviting visitors to slow down and look beyond the surface. Light and shadow become instruments of knowledge, capable of revealing what remains hidden and opening up new possibilities for seeing.
Andrea Pinchi investigates the memory of materials through the recovery of historical carbon papers, transformed into pictorial surfaces and poetic veils. In his light boxes, light reveals traces and details that would otherwise remain invisible, while the myth of Eros and Psyche and his arrow-shaped hearts evoke themes of intimacy, desire, and spirituality.
Giulia Manfredi, on the other hand, explores the architecture of the invisible through three-dimensional sculptures combining steel, glass, and marble. Her works bring geometry and organic forms, solidity and fragility into dialogue, transforming projected shadows into an integral part of the artistic experience. Particularly significant is her work featuring marble and blue butterflies, which reflects on impermanence and the continuous process of transformation inherent in life.
The dialogue between the two artists connects the intimate dimensions of memory and emotion with the broader realm of space and the geometries of living forms. The event offers an opportunity to explore their artistic research and discover LuceForma, an exhibition that invites visitors to consider shadow not as a limitation, but as a space of possibility and imagination, where light and darkness work together to give form to what emerges.
