Trans/fusioni di Alessia Salvadore

TRANS/FUSIONE explores body, memory and transformation through organic and reclaimed materials, creating a subtle dialogue with Eughen’s practice and his own use of fragments, found objects and matter marked by time

Trans/fusioni di Alessia Salvadore

TRANS/FUSIONE emerges from the intersection of interdisciplinary artistic experimentation and psychological research, using organic and reclaimed materials as tools for inquiry and transformation.

At the heart of the work is matter understood not as a neutral element, but as a presence already charged with time, memory, and lived experience. Menstrual blood, scratched glass, dried flowers, old periodicals, vintage photographs, and objects destined to be discarded are removed from their original function and repositioned within new visual and symbolic relationships.

It is precisely in this gesture in recovering, embracing, and transforming what already exists that the Alessia Salvadore’s work enters into a subtle dialogue with the works of Eughen  that inhabit the space. In his own practice, particularly in his material works and assemblages, reuse was never merely a formal device: found materials, fragments, and everyday objects were stripped of their original function and given a new identity within the artwork.

In TRANS/FUSIONE, this same attention to the previous life of matter takes on a more organic and intimate dimension. Menstrual blood is not used as a provocation, but as living matter, subject to time and transformation. Its flow participates in the formation of the image, while oxidation gradually alters its colour, density, and form. The work thus becomes the result of an encounter between artistic intention and processes the artist chooses not to control entirely.

Likewise, the reclaimed materials retain traces of their own history. They are neither erased nor disguised, but accepted in their imperfection and brought into relation with new elements. What was once marginal, worn, or destined to be discarded is offered another possibility of existence.

The dialogue with Spazio Eughen therefore arises from a shared sensitivity towards the transformation of matter: not a stylistic comparison, but a closeness of attitude. In both practices, to create also means to recognise latent possibilities in what has already been lived, used, and marked by time.

The project thus moves between body, memory, and transformation, questioning the boundaries between intimate and public, organic and artificial, precious and residual. For four years, TRANS/FUSIONE has accompanied the different stages of the artist’s research, evolving alongside it and assuming different forms throughout an ongoing process of self-construction and maturation.
