The Genesis of Being: Between Life, Art, and Catharsis

The exhibition "The Genesis of Being: Between Life, Art, and Catharsis" seeks to explore art as a process of revelation and transformation of the self.

The exhibition "The Genesis of Being: Between Life, Art, and Catharsis" seeks to explore art as a process of revelation and transformation of the self. Through the abstract paintings of Francesca Porcaro and the videos by Marco Balbi Dipalma, the exhibition invites the viewer on a deep journey into the subconscious, where ideas, dreams, and emotions that fuel the creative act are born.

The Subconscious as a Creative Source

Each artwork in the exhibition is the result of an inner exploration by the artist. Francesca Porcaro delves into the depths of her subconscious to give form to the invisible and unexpressed. Her abstract paintings become emotional maps, a landscape of the unconscious where every gesture, every brushstroke, reveals a hidden truth. Her bold use of color conveys turmoil and rebirth, transforming pain into beauty. Similarly, Marco Balbi Dipalma uses his videos to narrate fragments of dreams, where the flow of images visually translates emotions and inner thoughts that escape rational logic, evoking anxiety and the search for identity.

Creation as a Cathartic Experience

The creative act is also a cathartic moment, a purifying ritual for the artists. Francesca Porcaro, through her painting gestures, transforms emotional chaos into order and beauty. Her works are not only artistic creations but also invitations to reflect on our relationship with pain and resilience. Marco Balbi Dipalma, with his visual narrative, creates a flow of images that, like dreams, evoke deep emotions. In both cases, creation becomes a release from internal tensions, where the subconscious is revealed and purified. The audience is thus invited to connect with their own emotions, discovering in them a cathartic power.

Art as a Metaphor for Life

Art becomes a metaphor for life. Just as life follows a cycle of birth, growth, and transformation, the works of Francesca Porcaro and Marco Balbi Dipalma's videos follow a similar path. Each creation is the result of a vital process that starts from the inner world to manifest in the outer one. The genesis of each work mirrors the transformation of the human being, leading the viewer to reflect on their own subconscious and live a personal cathartic experience.

The exhibition invites the viewer on an introspective journey, to confront their own "being" through the lens of art, which is not just a reflection of the artists' experience but also an opportunity for the audience to awaken their own soul, explore their fragilities, and rediscover the beauty inherent in transformation. In every work, in every image, there is a call to reconnect with our deepest essence, in this endless journey where art becomes a beacon that illuminates our inner search, a catalyst for change and revelation. It is time to abandon fears, to open hearts and minds to new perspectives, and to fully immerse oneself in this infinite adventure, for art, in all its beauty, has the power to transform our existence.

Additionally, the exhibition will feature the "Ability Leaves" created during the "United Against Violence" event on Sunday, October 20th, in Piazza Re di Roma, organized by Happy Coaching in collaboration with the Pamela Mastropietro ODV Association. This symbolic day against violence is supported by the VII Municipality's Department of Culture. During the event, participants will be invited to reflect on the question: "What ability do you need to manage your violent side?" and will engrave their responses onto the leaves, representing a journey of awareness and personal transformation.

This initiative perfectly fits into the context of the exhibition, which is curated by Ilaria Giacobbi and developed from a project initiated by the Pamela Mastropietro ODV Association, which is dedicated to promoting the psycho-emotional well-being of individuals. Many of its projects use art as a therapeutic tool, and the exhibition "The Genesis of Being: Between Life, Art, and Catharsis" is rooted in this vision, exploring art as a process of inner revelation and catharsis. Just like the event in Piazza Re di Roma, it invites us to confront our shadows and transform them through the artistic experience.

The leaves displayed in the exhibition thus become fragments of this same cathartic process, where art, with its ability to reveal and purify, offers a journey toward awareness, balance, and the overcoming of violence, both internal and external.
