I'm a perfomer and video artist. I graduated in theatre studies at the Department of Art, Music and Performing Arts of the University of Bologna. In 2018, completed the advanced training course in socio-cultural educator at the Department of Educational Sciences of the University of Bologna. From 2001 to 2017, studied and collaborated with Maestro Dimitri Pasquali, from whom I learnt the fundamental techniques of classical theatre, cinema, voice and theatre didactics. I am a self-taught photographer and video editor. In 2004, I met Rena Mirecka. Rena Mirecka was one of the founding members and first actress of J. Grotowski’ s Teatr Laboratorium. Since 2004, I have continued to participate in the Master's Paratheatrical laboratory, becoming her assistant and finally the leader of "The Sun - The school of Rena Mirecka". I led "The Sun" from 2017 to 2022, with the support of the Grotowski Institute (Wroclaw- PL). I collaborated with Rena Mirecka for 18 years. In 2021 I have been started a new research in the field of ritual performance arts. Since 2022 I continue this research and share performative pedagogy as an independent artist. In 2022 I have been started a new video art research. In my research as a video artist, I question the self in an existential sense, starting with the plasticity of the body. Red is the colour I contemplate. The eternal Pathos of red. My videos are carnal prayers that investigate Being.
ARTISTIC STATEMENT
In my video art research, I question the existential phenomenological “I”, starting from the plasticity of the body. Red is the colour I contemplate. The eternal pathos of red. My videos are carnal prayers. The body shape, which arises from inner needs, colours the space with emotional tonalities, becoming open shape. Video has this peculiar capacity, to record in real time, piercing the body with light to illuminate the presence of the soul. The body is a language of glimpses and slits. The ambivalent being of presence and absence. I use the technique of reverse time, freeze, feedback loops, datamosh, to dissolve my body plasticity into a spatial self-flowing in colour, colour creating space. The videos, based on autobiographical experiences, investigate the verticality of the human being and thematise grief as a source of transformative relational and spiritual knowledge. The primary love of the performer is the focus of my investigation.
