Today, more than 122 million people worldwide are forced to leave their homes due to war, persecution, extreme poverty, or climate change. The experience of traveling, migrating, and fleeing represents one of the most urgent challenges of our time and raises profound questions about the very concept of humanity, rights, and hospitality.
From these premises arises “A Humanity on the Move: Traveling. Migrating. Fleeing. – But also Deporting, Exiling, Evacuating”, a collective exhibition that seeks to give voice — through the universal language of art — to the stories, experiences, emotions, and hopes of those who are on the move.
The objectives:
-
Raise public awareness of migration phenomena and the conditions of refugees and displaced persons.
-
Promote empathy and understanding through the artistic experience, making often-forgotten stories visible.
-
Foster dialogue between art, society, and current affairs, turning art into a tool for reflection and responsibility.
-
Highlight the diversity of female and multidisciplinary artistic expressions in the interpretation of social issues.
The exhibition revolves around three key verbs — to travel, to migrate, to flee — mirrored by their opposites: to deport, to exile, to evacuate; to repel, to repatriate, to expel.
The artistic journey unfolds as a dialogue between these experiences, offering multiple perspectives on a humanity in motion.
