Licia Rossi is an Italian artist. She was born in Rome where she lives and works.
She has developed a personal artistic path that explores the deep and meaningful dimensions of art. Through a visual language that oscillates between figuration and abstraction, Licia creates works that are both fragile and intense, suggesting possible worlds and silent stories.
Her artistic research is characterized by a texture of repeated signs, with hidden images barely hinted at that seem to have an alchemical completeness. The surfaces can be luminous or deep and earthy, with rarefied composition that are sometimes vaguely geometric. In recent years, she has worked on light and almost transparent supports, engaging in a game of appearances and disappearances.
Memory captures images from another dimension and returns them in the best way. Art is not necessarily representative because it wants to transcend the most obvious meanings, it wants to explore the deeper dimensions. Art for Licia is a field of action and not just of fruition, it can be considered a journey where one trains to face uncertainty.
Materials, pigments, papers, and gauze , all contribute to a search for an evocative language, for the emergence of the image, fragile and intense visions that suggest an elsewhere, the sensation of a finding, of a trace, of an imprint.
Licia has also developed an artistic activity in collaboration with Antonio Malleo, founding the studio "Cromaticamente" in 1993. Her artistic production is diversified, ranging from canvas painting treated with acrylic materials to decorative art. She has created commissioned works for private clients and architecture studios in Italy and abroad, including Qatar, Indonesia, Switzerland, and Arab countries.
