On Tuesday, September 29, at 7:00 PM, the Borghini Arte Contemporanea gallery opens “LUCEFORMA” by Andrea Pinchi and Giulia Manfredi.

Light, in the journey of images, has been composed, decomposed, altered, and taken shape. In the “LUCEFORMA” event, she explores potential as a generative principle: when it passes through structures, designs their volumes, and establishes a continuous dialogue with space, it itself becomes a solid element. In works where light is the very origin and raw material, filtered and interpreted, it gives life to the story conceived by the artist, who moves his inner world through the shadows of his thoughts. Two different ways of making light material, capable of giving shape to the invisible.

Andrea Pinchi was born into a family of pipe organ builders and restorers, and began painting as a child with the painter Nereo Ferraris. His artistic style connects ancestral languages ​​within the metaphysical space of his work, developing a path that explores unusual pictorial forms, fluid in their figurative nature, true asceticizations of the source material that composes his iconographic (re)visions. Curator Gianluca Marziani says of him: "His artistic production is a grammatical and poetic reuse of pieces of leather, tin, paper, lead, and anything else that can be transported into the hortus conclusus of the painting, into the alien surfaces of his mental objects in real form. The work operates with the linguistic spirit of the intuitive alphabet, devoid of numbers and letters but rich in geometries that become sentences, interpretations, the opening of an invisible dialogue. There is no clear temporal zone; rather, it is a cosmic fluctuation that follows a cerebral magnetism, as if the inner vision were connecting to the imaginaries beyond the news, beyond street realism, beyond the noise of the city."

Giulia Manfredi graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna in 2008 with a thesis on new media and satellite technology, later moving to Berlin to further her studies at the UDK (University of the Arts). Her research is grounded in the investigation of hidden geometries, the invisible structures that govern natural phenomena, psychological processes, and social behavior. Through a multidisciplinary approach, she explores how these geometries manifest on different scales: from microscopic biological systems to cosmological patterns, from personal memory to collective rituals. In each of her artistic productions, she seeks to engage with an intimate and universal universe, where beauty becomes a tool for interrogation and sublimation. Curator Sabino Maria Frassá says of her: “Her works present a hypnotic beauty that clashes with the material they are made of: not only marble, but also mushrooms and the inanimate remains of bonsai trees and butterflies. Giulia Manfredi's art is ultimately a hymn to infinity, of which life is an essential part. Without life, infinity and the striving for it cannot exist. Her works are so visually concise and imbued with meaning, they help us glimpse the immensity of which we are and will forever be a part.”
