The exhibition tells the story of a process that began with forms created by individual participants and gradually took shape as a shared presence.
At its centre stands a totemic structure, about two metres tall and reminiscent of a stylised tree. It is made of triangular cardboard forms covered in grey papier-mâché. The structure serves as both a support and a meeting point: it brings together the individual sculptures, some resting on it, others attached to it or suspended among its forms.
Each sculpture begins with a personal gesture. It may hold a quality, a memory, a value, an inner tension or a connection with nature. The forms differ in appearance and in the ways they were imagined and made: some may have grown from a plan, while others emerged through a more intuitive and spontaneous process. This variety makes room for the different sensibilities of the participants.
Brought together within the structure, the works enter into a relationship with one another. They remain recognisable as individual expressions, while also becoming parts of a whole. The totem does not erase their differences; it gathers them and brings them into dialogue, like a tree holding many different branches and forms.
The exhibition invites visitors to consider this movement: from personal identity towards a shared identity, shaped through participation, listening and connection.
