ITALIA MEDIA ART FESTIVAL 2026

The Italia Media Art Festival brings “The Energy That Transforms” to Maker Faire Rome 2026: video art and interactive installations explore human, spiritual and technological energy as a force shaping change and the future

The Italia Media Art Festival (IMAF) returns to Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition with a new event as part of its third edition, dedicated to the theme “The Energy That Transforms: Human and Spiritual Strength Becoming Action for the Future.”

The 2026 edition is structured around two international Open Calls: Video Art & Performance, supported by Enel, and Video Installations, supported by Snam, bringing together artists from around the world and exploring energy through different forms of contemporary media art.

The event at Maker Faire Rome, from October 23 to 25 at the Gazometro Ostiense, will be especially dedicated to the screening of the Video Art works, offering audiences an international journey through artistic languages ranging from audiovisual experimentation and generative artificial intelligence to pixel art and video poetry.

Alongside the video art programme, two works from the installation section will be presented: “Prabhā Aura” by Claudio Marani, an interactive video installation that symbolically makes the energy of the human body visible, and “Breathearth” by Maria Korporal, a participatory installation in which the viewer’s breath becomes energy capable of bringing a digital ecosystem to life.

The Maker Faire Rome event will therefore serve as a special preview of the major IMAF 2026 exhibition, taking place from November 20 to 22 at Palazzo Rospigliosi in Zagarolo, where the Festival will present its first major international Media Art exhibition, bringing together the full exhibition project and the selected and invited artists from the different sections.

A journey through human, spiritual, natural and technological energy, where art and innovation become tools for imagining and shaping the future.
