Art means nothing. Art is.
Lucio Amelio said it, and the phrase doesn't deny art: it strips away everything that usually comes before it. The title, the caption, the artist's explanation, the "what did they mean."
That is why Fabrizio Bonato opens his atelier without offering keys to interpretation. You will find no labels telling you what to look at, no message to decipher and carry home. You will find the works, the space in which they were made, and the time to stand before them.
The artist invites you to look without translating, to stop in front of what eludes you, to let the work ask the question. If a meaning comes, it will be yours, and it need not coincide with that of the person who made the work.
Then, if you wish, there will be a chance to talk with the artist over a glass of wine. Not to receive explanations, but for an exchange between people who have just looked at the same things, each in their own way.
The atelier is open. The only thing it asks of you is to come in without needing to understand.
