This exhibition was born from the encounter of two perspectives — the pictorial and the photographic — that choose to rest not on the evidence of things, but on their veiled reflections.

Maria Pia’s canvases and Laura’s photographs converse around subtle threads: rain, curtains, and night.

Filters that, though different in substance, share the same function: to stand between the eye and the world, transforming seeing into perceiving.

Rain, curtains, and the darkness of night are thresholds. They do not block the gaze, but modulate it, slow it down, suspend it.

They are filters that reveal and conceal at the same time, distorting outlines to offer a new image — more fragile, more intimate.

Rain fragments light, the curtain softens what it divides, darkness dissolves the edges.

In this suspended space, the viewer does not find the clarity of detail, but the possibility of suggestion, memory, and imagination.

Each painting and each photograph thus becomes an elsewhere, a passage into the artist’s inner world, an invitation to inhabit the distance between what is shown and what remains hidden.

What matters is not the sharpness of reality, but the experience of living it through a sensitive and personal filter.
