ABOUT PAINTING. For a "realism" of the essence.

By observing the object, one transcends its appearance until it elevates to another dimension. The scale of simplification from which this research begins leads each artist on their own personal path.

The "Of Painting" project was born by Laura Grosso after her experience with Painting in China in 2011. Its aim was to draw attention to painting by bringing together painters united by their exclusive interest in this art form. Thanks to last year's Rome Art Week initiative, it formalized into a collective.

This year's collective will exhibit works created during the 2025 open-air painting masterclass led by Laura Grosso and Anthony Lombardi in the Roman countryside, in an open studio at Laura Grosso and Anthony Lombardi's Painting Studios in their Roman home, on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
