Gregorio Gumina

Born in Rome in 1955, Gregorio Gumina lives and works between Collalto Sabino (RI) and Rome. He graduated at 1° Liceo Artistico di Roma in 1976, and was a student of Nino Cordio, Enrico Gaudenzi and  G. Niglia. Gregorio attended the Scuola Libera del Nudo at L'Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. As a visual artist and cultural operator, he promoved and organized numerous artistic, political and cultural initiatives, in Italy and France, where he lived for several years. Gregorio took part in various personal and collective expositions. He published a folder of engravings with a critical text from Jean Paul Sartre , a Book Art presented by Tullio Catalano, and poem book presented by Dario Bellezza. By the end of the '80s, Gumina was part of that collective of post-conceptual artists such as Mauri, Kounellis, Pistoletto, Paolini, Catalano, Bneveduti, Baruchello.  Gregorio took part in various contemporary artistic movements and founded the Gruppo Mediterraneo, the Sindacato Nazionale Artisti CGIL in L'Aquila, and the group Autori Visivi del Lazio. He is an editor for AEQUA, a journal that contains studies and researches about history, and he's the autor of numerous essays about local history.
