Data and contact details

Barbara Monti, born in Rome on November 27, 1974, is a self-taught artist who discovered her passion for painting under the influence of her parents, who introduced her to oil painting from an early age.

Always fascinated by travel, she pursued the study of Chinese at La Sapienza University in Rome, attended courses at the Universities of Shanghai and Beijing, and eventually graduated in Oriental Languages.

Her art does not conform to predefined rules but allows the imagination to soar freely. Inspiration does not come from external subjects, but from her inner world—her emotions, sensations, and memories—transferred onto the canvas through the energy of color and the power of gesture. In that unique and magical moment, colors flow directly from her soul, transcending figurative formality and generating an explosive sensation.

Her work arises from an unconscious and intuitive process, expressing both her inner self and her life experiences. The artist is able to perceive, in a profound and personal way, the elements we all encounter in everyday life and return them to the canvas, transformed into artistic sensitivity.

Barbara Monti’s style is characterized by the use of vibrant color patches that pulsate on the canvas through dynamic chromatic interactions. Her palette ranges from vivid, intense tones to more enveloping and meditative hues, at times exuberant and overwhelming, yet always carrying a powerful emotional impact.
