Data and contact details

After concluding my professional relationship with the University and achieving the status of “retired” I dusted off some activities left pending or practiced sporadically during the previous years.

Now I photograph, engrave, print, build objects. I often work alone, but I also actively collaborate with cultural groups and associations both for photography (social, naturalistic and experimental) and for engraving and for the artist's book. I work with traditional engraving techniques (etching, aquatint, soft ground and dry point) and experimental ones. I print in my laboratory.

In photography I often use the ancient nineteenth-century techniques (cyanotype, callitype, gum bichromate, etc.) starting from digital photography and using sunlight, when possible, or ultraviolet lamps to transfer the image onto paper sensitized with ferrous salts.

I have participated in numerous group exhibitions and some personal ones, in engraving and photography biennials in Italy and abroad. My works, my artist books and object books have won numerous awards.

I don't know how much it is shareable, but I can only think by doing (I'm hopeless at abstract theorizing); I need to dig up my memory and ideas, reconsider the past and what I thought, transforming it into things that can be touched and images that speak: it is not essential that they are liked.

The more I build, the more new ideas arise and I am animated by the urgency to realize them.

The thought that started from the past becomes current: it lives again in the present time changing its appearance. I do not pretend to "make art"; I would just be sorry not to be able to convey anything of what I think in my images.
