PROGRAM
IMAGINING AS RESISTANCE AND REFUSAL
The research…
Through her art and her forty-year professional career, Roberta Pugno seeks to convey the energy and emotional power that images, beauty, and the sense of *wonder* in the world hold in opposing a reality increasingly tied to the logic of rationality, utility, and the banality of evil.
“The human being,” says the artist-philosopher, “is born with the ability to imagine and with fantasy, which, often, due to disappointing or violent relationships, is lost. We need to rediscover the healthy and vital origin of the individual but also of the human species, which began with reciprocity and even with art, as evidenced by cave paintings.” Supported by the most advanced scientific discoveries on the human mind, the artist proposes, together with her works, collective research, events, and initiatives designed to “speak” of the deeper nature of things, first and foremost the “wisdom” of the unconscious world, that universal dimension which naturally drives human beings toward creativity and relationship with others, and which, through the realization of personal identity, counters violence between individuals and peoples — a condition too long presented as the true nature of human beings.
The opening program, as well as the schedule for visits to the studio and meetings to be held on Friday 24, Saturday 25, and Sunday 26 October 2025, will be published shortly.
At the studio, visitors will find a wealth of explanatory and theoretical materials, including the catalogue *IMMAGINEPAROLA* and the published volumes of *PSYCHE e ARTE*.
