The Galleria Prencipe is home to the Archivio Umberto Prencipe and to the Archivio dell'Ottocento Romano.
The gallery comprises a room dedicated to temporary art exhibitions, courses, and conferences, and two spaces which house the library, the collection of paintings, drawings and engravings, and the considerable archive material - handwritten pieces, press cuttings and photographs - present in Umberto Prencipe’s studio at the time of his death, as well as the documentary material belonging to the Archivio dell'Ottocento Romano.
As well as works by Prencipe, the collection also houses pieces by his circle, including Antonio Mancini, Vincenzo Migliaro, Giuseppe Casciaro, Attilio Pratella, Vincenzo Caprile, Francesco Vitalini, Antonio Antony De Wytt, and Ilario Ciaurro.
The spaces are decorated with objects and furniture from the artist’s studio, amongst which are a series of pieces of furniture decorated by Prencipe together with Ilario Ciaurro.
The library, dedicated to the art of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, engraving, and the history of art of Rome, contains over two thousand editions and numerous periodicals.
Galleria Prencipe has hosted numerous events, presentations, exhibitions, courses, and cultural activities dedicated to printmaking, graphic arts, and photography, with a particular focus on the period between the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries, while also embracing the work of contemporary artists
