Museo Crocetti
Data and contact details

The ‘Venanzo Crocetti’ Foundation, the Maestro's universal heir, was strongly desired by the artist whose name it bears to create a space that could preserve and protect his rich sculptural production and at the same time create and manage a place for research and innovation: a small city of art. Today, it represents the extension of Venanzo Crocetti's work and wishes in time and space, acting on the multiple levels of the preservation and dissemination of his up-to-date memory, as well as the education of new generations of artists, scholars, enthusiasts and anyone wishing to delve into the historical-artistic panorama of the 20th century.

The permanent exhibition of the Crocetti Museum, arranged in five rooms, hosts the works realised by the Sculptor over a period of more than seventy years of creative activity; bronze and marble sculptures, drawings and mixed techniques on paper dating from 1931 to 1998 are exhibited. Noteworthy among the exhibits are the sketch for the Door of the Sacraments in St. Peter's, the ‘Gravida’ of 1932, the ‘Wounded Gazelle’ of 1934 and the ‘Seated Girl’ of 1946, the Magdalene (1973 - 76). The door of the museum was sculpted by him in bronze and depicts human work after the expulsion from the Earthly Paradise.

On the central floor, a large hall hosts lectures and prestigious exhibitions of contemporary artists and national and international modern art.
