Transmutations. Personal exhibition by Ingrid Gozzano

Ingrid Gozzano's personal exhibition entitled Transmutations collects and presents the artist's latest production of the last two years.

The selected works arise and move in different directions, from the most informal to the most emotional and intimate painting to multi-material compositions with fabrics mounted on the canvas and then modulated with different color treatments.

The exhibition is accompanied by a critical text by Rosanna Ruscio.

Two short excerpts from the critical text

“Transmutations: dreams of color, loving matter”

by Rosanna Ruscio

[…] Like many in the history of art, Ingrid Gozzano also conceives the surface of a painting as a place of betrayal: of form, of materials and of their traditional concepts. Both in her pictorial works and in those where she relies solely on the physical strength of the materials, Ingrid Gozzano seems to evoke a reality unmoored from any historical-artistic citation.

[…] However, it is worth underlining how his material works are marked by a strong expressive, even emotional will, just like certain research carried out in the informal sector. This need to question the form, and even before that the consistency of the material, seems driven by a desire for physical appropriation: to experience the colours, the fabrics, see them, touch them and even smell them as if it were a preliminary act to know their relationship with the world.
