Montoro12 Contemporary Art is pleased to present the second solo exhibition in the gallery of Emmanuele De Ruvo (b. Napoli, 1983) entitled Metha-Phora, from the Physical to the Moral.

The works conceived and designed for this exhibition are united by a single common thread: the metaphor. When contemplated, the physical laws that regulate the functioning of the exhibited works, refer to matters of an emotional and moral nature.

The creative and expressive process of the works consists in basing them on an underlying similitude, an analogical relationship, whereby physical forces are used to express a concept, or to relate the matter to the moral, * in-matter * conditions of human beings.

For example, by repositioning an object in a new condition of equilibrium one can speak to the viewers in front of the work of how to remain standing up when dealing with life. Man is thus at the center of every work exhibited, and every work exhibited is conceived in function of man, for his virtues, his miseries, for his joys and his anxieties, leafing through the catalog of human emotions.

The metaphor, which is best suited to written and oral language, becomes material or physical in nature, but also includes its purely scientific meaning in its significance.

The condition of the works, mostly static, represents actions that man must take or decisions that man must face. The intent is to ignite a type of perceptive reaction in the viewer, which, passing through the organism and dilating itself to the senses, generates thought.

It is the latter the true protagonist of the exhibition, namely the transference between the work and the viewer (meta-phora / transfer).

The exhibition will consist of mostly works never shown before.
