The Unstable and the Immense

The exhibition brings together the practices of Dario Imbò and Victoria Thomen through monotypes, micro-sculptures and video. Two perspectives on matter, the cosmos and transformation, between what appears stable and what escapes human measure.

The Unstable and the Immense brings together the practices of Dario Imbò and Victoria Thomen, creating a dialogue between two distinct ways of questioning matter, space and transformation.

Dario Imbò presents a selection of monotypes and micro-sculptures that explore the expressive possibilities connected to the perception of the cosmos and an awareness of its immensity. His project engages with what escapes everyday measure, opening a reflection on the position of the individual in the universe and on the human need to give visible form to the invisible.

In dialogue with these works, Victoria Thomen presents Mons Movens (La trasformazione), a video work shown in loop that dismantles the myth of the mountain as a symbol of permanence and immutability. Beneath the stone, energy and tension emerge; the image gradually dissolves, making evident the impossibility of holding on to the present as it unfolds.

The exhibition unfolds as a space of relation between immensity and instability, cosmos and landscape, form and dissolution, highlighting a reality in continuous becoming. Presented at THOMEN STUDIO during Rome Art Week 2026, it invites the public to engage with different perceptual and symbolic scales, between matter, time and transformation.
