In contemporary cities — and particularly in Copenhagen — urban experiments are multiplying, introducing new housing models that often break with local traditions and challenge long-established rules. Efficiency, sustainability, and industrialization have become dominant principles, with increasing attention to comfort, space optimization, and environmental impact.
Yet within this context, a tension emerges: while housing becomes more functional and standardized, the outlines of a new, still-forming style begin to appear. But what happens to individual and collective identity when the home loses its personal character? Do we still recognize ourselves in the spaces we inhabit?
This exhibition explores Copenhagen’s residential landscape as a lens through which to examine deeper transformations: how do these environments shape our perception, our sense of belonging, and ultimately, our way of being?
