The sign of "being" on the trail of time

Introduction by Loredana Finicelli and critical text by Paola Ballesi

Exhibited a series of 15 works by the artist, who passed away in 2006, which illustrate the final phase of his research: the period in which he seemed to find faint clues of answers to the questions of his lifelong investigations. His life was dedicated to understanding the Human, using the graphic sign, both in the form of writing and image, as his preferred medium of research.

The syncretic and synsemic sign is the working tool of Magdalo Mussio, a graphic designer and Master of Engraving at the Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata, a leading intellectual and cultured in philosophy, as well as an undisputed interpreter of the neo-avant-garde. Through the modus operandi of the "writing body," the artist engages with Heideggerian thought and Derridean deconstruction, themes that inspired the exhibition's title.

Magdalo Mussio roots his "liminal philosophy" in the legacy of great contemporary thinkers, made of wandering signs and always animated by the fire of a tireless investigation into the traces of being dissolved in time.

The exhibition aims to provide insight into the journey of this great artist, little known to the general public but highly regarded by intellectuals of his time and ours.

The exhibition, as is customary at Bianco Contemporaneo gallery, is accompanied by a limited edition catalog/artist's folder of 50 copies: a  case containing prints of the 15 works exhibted, and 29 other works, along with texts and the artist's biography.
